I used AFA and found it to be good! However, you have to stay with it, and learn the system. Plan to go on a tour or two, don't bother writing ahead, it really does not help much. But, BE REALISTIC and view many profiles, pick a large number of women you want to meet, notify the office in your destimation city a week in advance. They will have dates for you! Most of the women are nearly as they present themselves on the profile.
But, you must be realistic, 19 year old girls do not want to meet 73 year old men! Some age difference is normal, and expected (my fiancee is almost 20 years younger than I, 57/38) but too much is too much! However, be aware that a few of the women on the site are just looking for a date, a dinner out, someone to buy them a few small things...so keep your eyes open. I traveled a total of 6 times (solo each, I am not cut out for the mob scene of a social) and learned a lot about myself, and a lot about women, about other societies - and enjoyed each trip.
On my last trip (I hit Ukraine, Russia, Colombia) I found on my first night the woman I had been seeking, she was much more attractive in person than in her photos! We are finishing the visa process now, and will be married about 1 year after we first met. The women are real, and most are truly marriage minded. While I found AFA staff always to be helpful and competent, I cannot say the same for the law office they recomended to help me with my visa application - that has been an expensive disaster!
On the whole, if you are indeed serious about meeting a wonderful woman, I would encourage you to try this. AFA is pretty good at the logistics of getting you there and back and making your stay enjoyable. But, writing letters endlessly gets nowhere. Just GO and meet women! Meet lots, and you will understand your own likes, dislikes, reactions, which will allow you to hone in on the better choices for you.
