I started using blossoms summer 2011. I used it on and off for a few months before eventually finding the girl who is now my fiancée, and we have been together now for nearly 2 years (online) 18 months (in person). So blossoms can be successful. But!
1. There are a lot of scammers. If the photo looks too "good" to be true, it probably is. Try googling the profile text, and the text they send you in any emails. (put extracts of the text in quotes in the search query). Using this technique I found lots of scammers.
2. I got talking to one girl via email. She had to pay a translation company in her own country to translate Russian - English. The only contact I had for her was the translation company. After a while I realised they were filtering out anything in our messages that will allow us to meet. No phone numbers, addresses, work places etc. They even refused to send her anything directly in Russian. I felt sorry for her, but I had to just stop the communication, to try and stop her being scammed even more. This is not Blossoms fault, but something to be aware of.
3. This is the most serious one! And I am aiming it directly at Blossoms! After I stopped using the site for about 6 months, I started receiving spam to the email address I used on the site. And I only ever used that email address for blossoms, so I know they are the source of the leak. Okay, so they sell the email addresses, not good, but not unheard of. But, recently I have started getting spam directing me to porn sites, that contain my password in the subject line! Yes! The password that I used on the Blossoms site in plain text on the subject line. This makes me think two things. 1. They store their passwords in plain text (that's a computing no-no). 2. They sold the entire database record, including the password. That's a serious security breech. I hate to think of the implications if I had used the same email/password that I use for the rest of my online life! I have contacted Blossoms about this, but they have ignored my emails.
So, my advice if you are thinking of using blossoms is: Use a new email address, and a unique password for blossoms. Because in a years time, dodgy people will know it.
All that said, I found a fantastic girl, and we intend to spend the rest of our lives together. That's why I gave 5 starts for "Value for money" - its priceless!
I hope this helps someone.
In summary, I would recommend Cherry Blossoms to a friend.
