I have been on this site for about 4 months now. I am a very attractive young male, just to be straight and I get responses, interests back and forth from women on this site so in terms of getting responses it worked for me but these were not genuine responses. There is a few problems with this service that makes the service waste of money and time based on my experience:

1. There is an overwhelming concentration of men over women. 75% Vs 25%. From a guy prospective, its impossible to stick with a woman who won't be chatting with multiple guys at the same time and you don't come across women who will want to keep in touch with you on a regular basis to get to know each other,

2. Most of the women I met were seemed to be interested only to find out that they were not on this site because they wanted to commit or something. The site is full of dreamers

3. Most of the women you will come across speak very little English and use translators.It makes it hard especially when you don't speak Russian

I joined this site about 1 year ago as a standard member. I'm kind of shy and conservative lady who think that a man should take initiative. The search results brought a lot of interesting guys, but I was not lucky to catch attention of anyone. And after a one year I decided to remove my pictures from there, and, at least, hide my profile. And I was in shock, when I found that I CANNOT DO THAT FOR FREE! I MUST PAY THEM to have opportunity to hide my profile! Please be careful: even you are a member you cannot delete you picture, and you cannot delete you profile whenever you decided to do that.

In summary, I would not recommend Russian Cupid to a friend.

Within three days of joining I had almost ten emails from women (some of them Gold members) giving me their email addresses and asking me to write to them. I followed through with one and got an email back with pictures and a passport scan. I googled the second paragraph and found several sites with almost exact copies of the same letter... A TOTAL SCAM. This site is a breeding ground for scam artists to ask you for money.

In summary, I would not recommend Russian Cupid to a friend.

Hi. I am a Norwegian guy 45, good looking and had a serious profile with pictures and a interesting text on Russian C. I have been here for 3 months (platinium member)and this is infected with fake profile and scams. Probably we are talking about 50%-70% of them are fake or you receive scam mail.

For most of us guys, it will be very difficult to find a woman you can date or even have marriage. You will loose your time and money. I can say this cause we are 3 single guys that has been member of this site for many months.

1. When you receive a mail asking for your email or giving you her email address in first letter, its SCAM.
2. They have often excuses for why they don't want to chat by skype (taking video test). Normally they say that they have no time, or have no camera.

I think russian cupid should work that first of all you both exchanges messages on russian then go further on with skype and video chat (live chat with in real time video), this to prevent having endless chatting or messages and it turned up with asking money.....

I'm a 21 year old guy and found this site to be the best bet to find a Russian woman. I suggest the 3 month plan they offer because every time you will ALWAYS meet at least 5 extremely beautiful women-model type. Make sure you upload a good quality pic of yourself in nice clothes and smile and your set!
Now there are some scammers there,I will tell you how to avoid them,Carefully listen!

A scammer will write you a message and in their 1st message will either A: give you their email and tell you to correspond there,or they will ask for your email. Simply report them and the site will remove their profile. Be careful of any girl who gives/asks for email in the initial messages.

Bottom line,if you want to find a pretty girl check this place out,It might take 2 years tops to find the right one but you will here,I have.

I subscribed twice in two different periods: 2008 and 2011. In both cases I came out with a relation. The first one lasted only one month but it was basically my fault. I would highly recommend this site if your are below 35 and from Europe because this is the target that many girls on RC seem to have.
Good points:
- It's not expensive.
- Girls are a lot and almost all of them are real (at least those up to 25)
- The site overall is intuitive, honest and serviceable.
- Last but not least, compared to other dating sites scammers are much less in percentage(and frankly speaking they are not really smart...).
Bad points:
- The photos are small.
- It might become really slow sometimes.
- The search engine often gives problems.
- Sometimes (I had also met personally some other girls that I was in contact with), some girl doesn't exactly look like she's in photograph. I strongly advice to everybody a skype conversation before your planned meeting.

In summary, I would recommend Russian Cupid to a friend.

OK, clearly there are lots of women on this site who are either not real or part of a scam. But I've found lots of real ones too. And there are loads of profiles.

I have never joined a site like this before and after reading reviews on here thought it was about the best - a good decision overall.
I read how to spot a scammer and still got fooled - not money, but I was putting effort into letters. I even saw her on video skype. I say 'saw' because she couldn't speak - laptop not working! Yeah right.
I started to get suspicious so I called her bluff by asking for directions to her village as I pretended I was nearby on a work assignment - never heard from her again.

I met another girl from Moscow, we talked quite a bit on video skype - she was real. So real she got her mate to join the site and check how often I was on there!! Oh yeah, she was real - and deleted.

I paid for only one month and learnt some stuff -

This website is probably 70-90% scam, but the rest seem genuine. This can easily be deflected however, by writing information in your descriptions boxes to the effect that you WILL NOT send out any money over the internet and that you are NOT rich.

If you do this then you will hardly get any attention at all, but the attention that you do get is more likely to be genuine.

I was a regular member about 3 years ago for 12 months & only came across two women who seemed genuinely interested, despite excessive efforts and at least many hundreds of interest ticks on my part.

The first one came along after about 6 months and agreed to exchange messages with me over hotmail. She seemed very enthusiastic (almost TOO enthusiastic), about meeting me, I had some very nice compliments from her regarding my looks and she didn't ask me for any money. - It seemed too good to be true so I told her about my radical Right wing political views and sent her a questionnaire about her background.

Ok, if you are even thinking of joining this site, I would read the reviews first!!! I have been a member for almost 2 years now and have corresponded with over 50 women. I would say only about 15 were real. I will guarantee one thing to you right now: Majority of the females that will contact you can be found on many of the scammer's websites. After being contacted by my 12 scammer, I began to look through the various scam sites and have found almost all the women that I corresponded with. It took some time but honestly if you want to save your money it's worth it. I was very ignorant about this site and at the beginning sent so much money that I completely drained all my savings. The scammers will often stop communicating after they take everything they can and tell you that they needed to survive and almost ALL will promise you that you will be scammed again. I no longer respond to women on that site but do check my messages and it's just funny now to see all the supermodel looking pictures that tell you how much they love you and want... I joined in approximately jan 25 2011, paid for 6 months as platinum. After one month my membership no longer worked. I did not use it all time.

I was on the road driving a truck and 27 girls cotacted me and 11 wanted me to send money by western union.

If my membership does not work they should give me back the unused portion of membership instead they cannot be contacted.
