I have been on this site since 3 years. First of all, the pictures that are used have all passed photoshop, nothing to do with reality. I met 2 ladies and they looked completely different than the photo's. First lady I met in Shenyang thought I was Donald Trump, asking me to buy her a Rolex, as a friend gift. The second meeting I had was in Shenzhen, the lady was nice but looked completely different from the photo's. Since 2 year I met a very nice lady from Changsha, and the translator told me that all is money. In principle the men do not chat with the lady that they think, it is a translator that has to hook up. If the translator thinks it can work out the couple, she makes contact between the man and the lady and plans a visit. The translators gets money for chatting, translation and if her service is required, during the first meeting. Your experience may vary with Chnlove but it will invariably be an expensive experience, here is why:

I actually met my wife on Chnlove in 2010 and we are still happily married, I also met a bunch of other potential candidates using their agency based services, and then I met some with those agencies but without the help of the website.

Chnlove is sort of an IT provider that caters to mostly western men on one side and Chinese dating agencies in the disguise of translation services on the other side. Chinese women sometimes pay a fee to join the agencies, sometimes not (my wife didn't, she was actually recruited and registered for free, some women I met did pay a few thousand RMB), and most sign a contract agreeing to pay a success fee if they find a suitable husband. In 2010 I heard this success fee was 10K RMB in some agencies and maybe even more in others.

The agencies only have 3 ways to make income, through Chnlove credits of which they get a share (through translation, watching videos, phone calls ...), getting paying women to sign up and through the success fee. Since the latter two are difficult (we... (Read the full review)

Found this site and was immediately overwhelmed by the admirer emails I received from all the beautiful ladies. Having also spent many $$s over the past months I have come to the following conclusions (this is what I just think).

1. Probably about 40% of the ladies are real. I had some include their contact email address in their admirer email and separate emails to them are more genuine (with more natural pictures);

2. I have actually received 'almost' word perfect admirer emails from completely separate ladies that are identical in wording. One lady was on their sister Thailand website and one was on the China one. Conclusion is that, in the main, the ladies do not write the mails.

3. I also believe that the ladies do not initiate the admirer email, the agency just bulk emails to hook guys.

4. It is all designed to keep you spending $$s.. especially with chat.. it is all about making money..

I first joined this website about 30 months ago then stopped using it for about 15 months. When I returned a couple of weeks ago I discovered that things have changed - quite a lot. Two years ago it I was able to exchange email address from those that could speak English through our initial correspondence. No longer. Now even if your friend speaks English well, and even if she is a mature woman, she needs to be protected i.e. the company must first extract a minimum fee but prefers to go for as much of your money as they possibly can.

The full costs of getting a date on this website are not immediately apparent but if you dig a little, you will find that in order to communicate directly with a member, you must have exchanged at least 20 emails (lowest price = $80 as of 3/2013.Check the site for updates on the price.)The contact information will then cost you between 10 to 30 credits according to whether you get one or, two or three contact data according to what She provided - not what you choose to request (email, telephone and address.)
