Take a chance?

I was on Russia Euro some years ago and recently joined Russia Cupid. I married somebody from the old site and yes it's come to grief because I did it on the rebound so I don't blame her or Russia Euro.

The naivety of my fellow men astounds me. The old adage 'a fool and his money are soon parted' is so true here. Those who lose all this cash must be totally smitten or desperate! Lots of pretty girls contacted me, some may be genuine, some not, but the scammers are usually scared off when they realise I went to Russia and Ukraine many times and no, I'm not going to send money to them or a third party for translation fees.

That said the scamming seems to be worse now since the financial crash and the war in Ukraine. My advice is get a phone number. Women who want to talk to you by phone or skype are hopefully genuine. The scammers haven't time to talk. when a woman never answers your questions in a lengthy letter its always suspicious. Scamming is their business not writing letters or chatting. Added to that I am always suspicious of some... (Read the full review)

In summary, I would recommend Russian Cupid to a friend.

Be yourself, but be reasonable about what to expect

I have been using RussianCupid since about 2006, when it was known as RussianEuro. Back then, there was a chat room feature available kind of like Yahoo Chat has. I'd say in terms of number of members and people differences, your particular interests are more likely to find you someone that fits you better.

There are certainly a lot of scammers on this site, but there are scammers on every dating site, even American ones. I've run into some Ghana and Nigerian scammers, but usually they try to get on chat and immediately disclose that they are in Ghana/Nigeria now and that their home is back in Russia or Ukraine. You just have to be wise. If someone immediately asks for your email address to "exchange photos", 99% of the time it's a scammer. It's rare nowadays that you'll find someone who asks for money on the actual site. The scammers have gotten "smarter" too, because they get immediately reported. That's another thing - try to keep the site better by reporting abuse on anyone that immediately asks for your email address to "share photos" or someone that says they're in another country now even though their profile says otherwise. Well worth the money

OK, clearly there are lots of women on this site who are either not real or part of a scam. But I've found lots of real ones too. And there are loads of profiles.

I have never joined a site like this before and after reading reviews on here thought it was about the best - a good decision overall.
I read how to spot a scammer and still got fooled - not money, but I was putting effort into letters. I even saw her on video skype. I say 'saw' because she couldn't speak - laptop not working! Yeah right.
I started to get suspicious so I called her bluff by asking for directions to her village as I pretended I was nearby on a work assignment - never heard from her again.

I met another girl from Moscow, we talked quite a bit on video skype - she was real. So real she got her mate to join the site and check how often I was on there!! Oh yeah, she was real - and deleted.

I paid for only one month and learnt some stuff -
I have learnt that the ones who ask for an e-mail immediately are not worth bothering,... (Read the full review)

Russian Euro

I used RussianEuro for 30 days thought it was a good site. Sure there are some scammers working but if you cannot see that a girl with supermodel looks who fills out the bare minimum on her profile is fake, well then, you are an idiot.
I chatted with a few nice ladies and found someone who shares my dreams and we are meeting in a month in London. So overall, worked for me.

In summary, I would recommend Russian Cupid to a friend.
