The editor of this review did a poor job. Vietnam Cupid is like other traditional dating sites in that you create a profile for free and can search for other members based numerous criteria. The reason there is no assistance with travel is because it is not a mail order bride site, it is a dating site. Thus, of course it does not offer travel assistance.
The site also is not just for foreigners, many singles living in Vietnam use Vietnam Cupid to find mates in Vietnam. Granted, there are plenty looking for a non-vietnamese mate as well. Just like other dating sites, of course you will have both men and women scammers that are looking for money and sex. Therefore, just like any other dating site, you need to be able to differentiate between those looking for a real relationship vs. gaming.
I met many people on Vietnam Cupid and there were alot more looking for a real relationship vs. gaming. It is difficult for both men and women. There are men that think Vietnam is sex heaven so they assume wrong that it will be easy. The country is very socially conservative and the women are very smart. They know many men are looking just for sex so you need to be ready. On the other hand, there are vietnamese women who are looking for money and assume incorrectly, that foreign men are just going to handover the cash. Yes, if he is looking for sex. But if he is looking for a mate, the cash will not be so easy.
Bottom line, Vietnam Cupid is similar to traditional dating sites and you need to treat it as such. There are many good women on Vietnam Cupid, you just need to take your time and be smart. Remember,
Vietnam is a traditional country and you need to approach the women in that manner, if you are serious about finding a mate. What you see in movies about Vietnam is so far from the truth that it amazes me everytime I hear somebody talk about it. Vietnam is the complete opposite of Thailand and if you are looking for a good lifelong mate, even if you live in Vietnam, it is a good place to look.
