I first joined this website about 30 months ago then stopped using it for about 15 months. When I returned a couple of weeks ago I discovered that things have changed - quite a lot. Two years ago it I was able to exchange email address from those that could speak English through our initial correspondence. No longer. Now even if your friend speaks English well, and even if she is a mature woman, she needs to be protected i.e. the company must first extract a minimum fee but prefers to go for as much of your money as they possibly can.
The full costs of getting a date on this website are not immediately apparent but if you dig a little, you will find that in order to communicate directly with a member, you must have exchanged at least 20 emails (lowest price = $80 as of 3/2013.Check the site for updates on the price.)The contact information will then cost you between 10 to 30 credits according to whether you get one or, two or three contact data according to what She provided - not what you choose to request (email, telephone and address.) So that will cost you up to another $120 at the least costly credit rate. So the minimum in order to write directly to someone's email is between $120 and $200.
To request a date through the site you need to have received a minimum of 2 letters from the lady ($16 -- usually 2 letters from you and 2 from her. Alternatively 10 minutes of chat time $10 at 1 credit per 5 minutes and 1/2 credit connection fee,) Then you have to prepay $139 and appear at the appointed date and time at the translator's office. Your date is limited to 90 minutes unless you wish to pay more for more translation. Do not forget to count the cost of travel to the translator's office - plane fare, taxi, hotel, food etc. and possibly extra translation services.
You cannot see your own profile as it appears to the ladies so you cannot have the translation independently verified. You cannot see the ladies' letters as written in Chinese to you or your letters to them as translated, so you cannot verify independently if they are properly translated. Many times the English translations appear to have been done by first of second year English students (maybe Google or QQ translate program)and are barely understandable. To be fair, some of the translations appear to be well done and communicate what the woman wants to say.
Nearly everyone on the site uses a professional photographer who buffs the photos heavily with Photoshop. Ask for candid unretouched snapshots of the woman taken with a friend or group of friends.
As soon as you sign in you are instantly bombarded by lots of online women who request to chat or promote their videos to you, often addressing you by name. The rapidity of the contact request onslaught implies that they are computer generated, triggered by your singing in, not by the women who would have to be prescient of your appearance.
Many of the women on this site are also registered on Chineselovelinks.com where the three tiered cost seems much more reasonable. Different posted age between the two sites is likely because Chnlove appears to use the traditional Chinese method of calculating age - the day you are born, you are one. Your first birthday you turn 2.
Would I recommend the site? Yes but be damned careful. You can lose a lot of money with nothing in the end to show for it but hurt.
In summary, I would recommend Chn Love to a friend.
