I joined the site and started communicating with several girls. I ignored the 18 year old beauty queens and emailed with several other members who seemed genuine enough. They actually read my emails and asked me about the facts they contained. I asked if they would like to talk outside the website and that's when they clammed up. For a fun experiment, I attempted to add the girls I was speaking to as friends on VK (The Russian Facebook). Predictably, they scattered out like roaches. Two actually closed their VK accounts and the other three never accepted my friend request. Weird, because two days ago they said they wanted me to visit to potentially get married. It seems that adding someone to your friends list on a social network would be several steps in the courting process before a marriage proposal. These girls are scammers of the first order, I actually kind of admire them. Most say they are from Lugansk or some smaller city, but I am sure they all share a dorm in Kiev or something. Bottom line, stay away. Join a site that let's you pay a flat rate per month and lets you send emails directly to the girls (I won't mention specific sites as I don't want people to think I am a paid shill for a certain site, but do your research on the various expat forums). Also learn Russian and do your background research. This isn't 2007 where a girl could get a guy to send money directly using excuses about her families poor health. We have gotten wiser, but so have the scammers. These girls will use every trick in the book to keep you writing letters as that's how they make their money.
In summary, I would not recommend Dream Marriage to a friend.
