I am not against posting my picture if I have to post one but I had to put this review up because why does everyone only see things from the service side. Does it mean that the ethical side of things has to fall because service is "great"?
Here is my experience with charmingbrides.com
1) Its ethnic balance lacks greatly and they are ethnically bakcward in terms of advertisements, staff composition, articles, and even testimonial evidence which is majorly one-ethnic focused (usually caucasian focused). These ethnic imbalances are cause for concern in terms of the perceptions of other ethnic customers! In communication with administration my own personal difficulty has arisen in getting those in charge to understand their need for a more multiethnic tone on the site. One of the administrators I spoke to told me that there is no such thing in the Ukraine as ethnic prejudice/racism but I went to Wikipedia and quoted an article that clearly showed this and I said that I was on a Russian/Ukrainian speciality forum where I discussed ethnic imbalances. This female administrator did not mention the article but told me she also went to the same forum and that she did not have to further speak to me because what they told me on the forum was sufficient. I was in shock because they called my stand on the forum for ethnic balance and fairness as being an issue of having a persecution complex and calling it pollution. She indirectly then was stating that she is calling my stand the same thing as well. How absolutely foolish! If such occurs for just this issue then one cannot tell what may take place with other issues.
(2) There is on article on the site that is absolutely foolish. It says that in order to lose weight one should marry a Russian/Ukrainian woman! In other words this is what is being said:
(A) All other men who marry NonUkrainian/NonRussian women will end up overweight!
(B) What about overweight children? Can they marry an Russian/Ukrainian woman so they can loose weight. How absurd!
(C) What about medically-induced obesity due to medications-Can Russian/Ukrainian woman be the cure for a medicine induced problem?
So forget about dieting the miracle cure for weight loss has always been marrying a Ukrainian/Russian woman-Yeah Right! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO A DOCTOR AND THEY TELL YOU THAT THE CURE FOR YOUR WEIGHT LOSS IS TO MARRY SUCH A WOMAN-BUT WHAT IF YOU ARE ALREADY MARRIED? WHAT THEN?
YOU WOULD GET OUT OF HIS OFFICE AND CALL HIM A QUACK But I have seen those who have done so and they are still overweight. I GUESS THE WEIGHT LOSS CURE ISNT ALWAYS A CURE AFTER ALL!
(3) There is also discrimination against the local Russian/Ukrainian man since the site will not allow the local Russian/Ukrainian man to become a member of the site thus promoting the idea of inferiority with local Russian/Ukrainian men. The site's owner refuses to allow men of her own country and homeland to be on the site believing that foreign men are better! Yeah right like if all foreign men are saints or will remain as "saints" forever in a relationship!
Such demonstrates the uncharming ways of this so-called "charming" site and I know this from personal contact with the site's regulators that this is so!
In summary, I would not recommend Charming Brides to a friend.
